Freeze Drying
Low-temperature sublimation that preserves activity and structure
How it works
The material is frozen first, then ice sublimates directly to vapour under vacuum without passing through a liquid phase. The low temperature helps retain biological activity, colour and a porous structure, which is why it is used for biologics, probiotics, TCM extracts and premium foods.
- Transformation
- Frozen material → Dried solid
- Typical feed
- Liquids, extracts, blocks, slices and strips
- Typical output
- Porous dried solids and lyophilized powders
- Scale
- Pilot / laboratory
